  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • The Applications Analyst-Sr/Project Manager position supports the core functions of EMC clinical applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This position will implement, administer, and support assigned clinical systems under the guidance of the Information Systems Management team. This position will have a thorough understanding of assigned applications, ancillary systems, and health system operations. This position will address issues and design decisions of moderate to high complexity and deliver clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to applications, interfaces, data structures, and workflows across the organization. Coordinates application support with other information technology teams including System Administrators, DBA, Networking, Reporting, and the Help Desk. Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with department's policies and procedures. The Project Manager is responsible for the IT programs/projects, with overall responsibility for the direction, scope, cost, schedule, quality, and success of the projects. This includes managing the project plan, budget, issues management list, work breakdown structure, and other project management tools. This position will coordinate all project activities: software and hardware implementation training, and optimization, business and IT related tasks, internal communications process improvement, and develop a plan for sustaining support. Provide solutions to work orders, trouble tickets and projects for assigned departments.

    • Education
      • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration and/or information systems with course work in computer science or equivalent
      • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent.
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Certification(s) required for those positions supporting an Epic application
    • Experience
      • Required: Two to four years in healthcare related positions
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Acts as a liaison between assigned departments, clinical end users and I.S. technical personnel.
    • Assists in the coordination and maintenance of all current systems for assigned departments and troubleshoots issues and documents for vendor resolution.
    • Support the departments and staff during, and post implementation, of assigned applications/systems.
    • Provides at the elbow support for providers and end users as needed during and after clinical system upgrades.
    • Analyzes current systems and processes in order to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care, provider productivity, financial outcomes and ancillary relations or cost savings.
    • Identify and assist with planning for, and developing, department-specific requirements for future product acquisitions.
    • Performs written and oral project status reporting on a regular basis as requested.
    • Communicates with IS staff members, vendors and users, and facilitates communication between these groups to identify system needs, modifications, and/or issues. Works with these groups to reach resolution of issues, define necessary modifications and develop solutions.
    • Analyzes user-requested application changes, documents requests, facilitates communication between users and IS staff.
    • Works with vendors to determine, review and document acceptance of system changes. Facilitates communications between IS personnel and vendor representatives.
    • Provides technical assistance and support to expert users.
    • Takes initiative to share information regarding healthcare informatics or regulatory requirements with other team members.
    • Takes advantage of available resources to stay informed of current developments and trends in healthcare informatics, information security and regulatory compliance.
    • Assures that all necessary documentation (i.e. procedures, processes) is properly completed.
    • Update all service requests on a monthly basis and communicate updates to the requestor on a monthly basis.
    • Ensures that email and voice mail indicate unavailability with alternative contact when out of office.
    • Assume administrative tasks to support management as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Work with the leadership and other stakeholders to establish the strategic direction of the organization’s information systems to ensure goals are achieved.
    • Assist project sponsors in establishing project goals, metrics, and baselines. Facilitate collaboration and decision making between sponsors and departments.
    • Develop detailed implementation plans including finalization of project team structure, task list, task inter-dependencies, timetable and budget.
    • Define, identify, secure, and coordinate internal and external resources and expertise, as appropriate, for the program/project implementation.
    • Manage programs/projects within schedule and budget constraints according to specifications and ensure business objectives are met.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Develop and manage project budgets, and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.
    • Lead and direct work assignments of internal and external resources to ensure support efforts are accomplished successfully.
    • Initiate and facilitate change management through established communication methods.
    • Oversee development of integrated testing, validation, development of training materials, and the conduct of the training.
    • Identify, monitor, and develop strategies for migration.
    • Act as single point of contact or escalation for customers and facilitating contact with the correct resources.
    • Develop and assist with communications to the organization and customers regarding the program/project initiatives, status, and progress.
