Under the direction of the Administrative Director, is responsible and accountable for the fiscal, clinical and personnel functions of individual department(s) on a 24-hour basis. Develops and utilizes mechanisms for directing, evaluating and controlling operational activities towards accomplishment of divisional effectiveness and efficiency. Responsible and accountable for developing, implementing, and integrating performance improvement plan into unit practice. Assures implementation and maintenance of departmental/hospital Policies, Procedures and Standards of Care. Assures all State and Federal laws are in compliance in areas of responsibility. Assures all JCAHO standards are followed in areas of responsibility.

Licensure/Certification

Required: California Registered Nurse and American Heart Association BLS, Certification in relevant field i.e. CCRN, CVRN, AACN, RCIS, RCES

Experience

Required: 3 to 5 years experience in Cath and/or EP and minimum 2 years leadership experience in cardiac program

Essential Job Specific Responsibilities
-
Assures that adequate human resources are provided, retained and utilized in an efficient manner to maintain objectives of organization.

Prepares annual budget for area(s) of responsibility and controls operational activities towards accomplishment of divisional efficiency.

Coordinates multidisciplinary care delivery.
-
Practices hospital-wide scripts and ensures scripting is being utilized in areas of responsibility.
-
Rounds on new admissions or in procedural area as position requires.
-
Responds to all patient complaints in a timely fashion with follow-up to resolution. Maintains files on these interactions with cumulative data.

Ensures optimal care delivery via direct observation, concurrent documentation audits and subsequent unit based P.I. initiatives.
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance suspected violations.

Staffing plan and daily management achieves productivity goals of 95-100%.
-
Negotiates with physicians and vendors to obtain the best pricing for supplies.
-
Develops, implements, reviews and revises policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services provided by department.

Develops each member of the team and encourages professional growth and opportunities to participate in projects, committees, or other non-direct patient care assignments.

Responsible for the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided by the department.

Participates in departmental and hospital activities and committees.
- Performs diagnostic procedures as needed by the department.
