  • Essential Job Specific Responsibilities
    • Collaborates with Medical Director, hospital leadership, physicians, staff and others to design and implement strategies to maintain, enhance and grow service volumes for existing services and to develop, implement and market new services.
    • Develops, administers and maintains departmental budgets under the direction of the Medical Director and Chief Administrative Officer. Reviews operational reports; identifies, analyzes and resolves variances.
    • Prepares annual budget with Executive Director for area(s) of responsibility and controls operational activities towards accomplishment of divisional efficiency.
    • Assures that adequate human resources are provided, retained and utilized in an efficient manner to maintain objectives of organization.
    • Collaborates with other EMC managers to plan for and develop appropriate business processes necessary to support the needs of EMC.
    • Collaborates with staff, physicians, and others to plan and design new or remodeled space to enhance patient care, increase capacity and accommodate anticipated program growth.
    • Develops management and leadership skills in managers and supervisors to foster personal and professional growth, to improve services and to increase patient, physician and employee satisfaction.
    • Manages and coordinates medical practice services including patient records, registration, billing, transcription and scheduling across all locations.
    • Forecasts future demand for existing and proposed programs. Develops and implements plans to align program capacity with demand. Reviews and approves/denies all requests for provider clinic schedule changes.
    • Meets frequently with medical staff to facilitate quality patient care flow, increase efficiency and optimize revenue.
    • Assures adequate staffing through analysis of need, skills, productivity, and recruitment and retention activities.
    • Monitors productivity and practice revenue and expenses on a regular basis. Recommends corrective action as needed.
    • Develops a team that can plan and implement change in a positive manner involving staff participation and input as appropriate.
    • Promotes program through good public relations.
    • Leads efforts to enhance patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction and physician satisfaction across the program.
    • Coordinates multidisciplinary care delivery.
    • Practices hospital-wide scripts and ensures scripting is being utilized in areas of responsibility.
    • Assures all State and Federal laws are in compliance in areas of responsibility. Assures all JCAHO standards are followed in areas of responsibility.
    • Develops and utilizes mechanisms for directing, evaluating and controlling clinical activities and costs towards accomplishment of divisional effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Rounds in procedural area as position requires.
    • Responds to all patient complaints in a timely fashion with follow-up to resolution. Maintains files on these interactions with cumulative data.
    • Ensures optimal care delivery via direct observation, concurrent documentation audits and subsequent unit based P.I. initiatives.
