Directs staff, leaders and programs for the Ambulatory Division. Oversees and coordinates all activities and clinical operations of the ambulatory service areas of responsibility. Provides administrative leadership guidance for multiple clinical practices in partnership with medical directors, operations leadership, clinical leads and/or other physician and front line management. Serves as a clinical administrative liaison for all related ambulatory division activities, projects and programs. Works closely with the Medical Directors and Clinic Administrators to improve clinic functions and flow, ensures quality patient outcomes, enhances the patient experience, and ensures staff and leadership training and competency.

Qualifications

Education
-
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree in nursing related field if hired after January 2024

Preferred: Masters degree in nursing related field

Licensure/Certification

Required: California RN, NP or PA license; American Heart Association BLS

Preferred: Lean process improvement certification or role specialty specific certification

Experience
-
Required: Five (5) years of progressive management experience within healthcare
-
Preferred: Ambulatory clinic experience; experience managing hospital owned & licensed outpatient service departments; experience within a multi-physician practice organization, preferably managed by a health system; experience in role specialty with expertise in regulatory oversight; lean process improvement experience

Essential Job Specific Responsibilities

Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

Serves as a clinical administrative resource to leaders and staff and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the delivery of service within ambulatory division areas of oversight.

Collaborates with Medical Leaders, executive leadership, clinic and department directors, practice managers and staff at all levels to develop goals, objectives, and strategy plans for operational efficiency, quality outcomes and programs, and fiscal stewardship

Develops and maintains positive relationships among, staff, leadership, and physicians through direct and indirect efforts to recruit, and retain staff, and provide staff resources within ambulatory division areas of oversight.

Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing staffing resources within ambulatory division areas of oversight, facilitating recruitment of clinical resources to provide qualified staff to the physicians/surgeons to enhance and support patient care. Coordinates management oversight of staffing tools, data and reports related to the development of the staffing resources within ambulatory division areas of oversight.

Communicates regularly with the CAOs/Service Line Administrators, Directors, Practice Managers, and staff, and facilitates regular updates and reports on candidates for hire in collaboration with the Human Resources department.

Works closely with the Education & Informatics Department to successfully develop and oversee implementation of role development tracks, for clinical and ancillary staff across within ambulatory division areas of oversight.. Ensures, within ambulatory division areas of oversight, services has the ability to achieve a program that promotes staff growth and longevity from the time of onboarding and that is sustained throughout employment.

Oversees Lean initiatives and management to operational metrics for areas of oversight.

Works with stakeholders to gather financial and clinical information to present to CAOs/Service Line Administrators including monthly and annual operational and capital budgets within ambulatory division areas of oversight.

Develops appropriate financial reporting mechanisms within operational teams, analyzes financial and clinical data on a regular basis and reports trends, variances and influences to leadership for ambulatory division areas of oversight.

Assures all State and Federal laws are in compliance within ambulatory division areas of oversight. Assures all JCAHO standards are followed within ambulatory division areas of oversight.
