    • The Director, Financial Applications is responsible for ensuring the support of end users for all financial and revenue cycle software applications in use at Eisenhower Health. The Director, Financial Applications at Eisenhower Health is a highly visible position that will collaborate with business stakeholders in human resources, supply chain, revenue cycle and finance. Under the general direction of the Vice President/CIO for Eisenhower Health, the Director, Financial Applications performs a wide variety of duties including planning, directing, and evaluating staff in implementing various Financial and Revenue Cycle software. He/she is responsible for working with departmental leaders to identify and/or implement improved work processes and increased efficiencies. Interacts with management across the organization to develop actionable projects and activities in support of the company's revenue cycle and business application environment

  • Qualifications
    • Education
        • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Health, Science, Business; or HS diploma and an additional 4 years of related work experience.
        • Preferred: Master's degree in Information Technology, Health, Science, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

        • Preferred: Relevant Information Technology certification(s) in Epic Revenue Cycle and/or Project Management Certifications.
    • Experience
        • Required: 5 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology or 9 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology without a Bachelor’s degree. 3 years serving in a manager role or a functional leadership role and/or have managed other colleagues.
        • Preferred: 5 years serving in a director or manager role or a functional leadership role and/or have managed other colleagues.
  • Specific Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required
    • Knowledge of software applications (Epic, UKG, OnBase, 3M and Workday preferred) for healthcare financial and revenue cycle areas.
    • Knowledge of budget development, contract negotiations, vendor management, and analyzing costs for new projects Ability to identify and communicate user’s needs.
    • Knowledge of software support processes and tools.
    • Ability to direct and manage multiple projects.
    • Ability to interact with users, administration, physicians and staff.
    • Knowledge of project management processes and standards.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of contract review and negotiations techniques.
  • Essential Job Specific Responsibilities
    • Working with the CIO, develops departmental goals and objectives. Establishes implements and maintains policies and procedures for department orientation.
    • Working with the CIO, assesses plans and implements process improvement strategies; maintains appropriate quality control.
    • Manages special projects by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirments; evaluating milestone accomplishments and evaluating optional courses of action.
    • Demonstrates effectiveness in leadership through broad collaborative skills, deliberate decision-making and effective delegation and follow up. Creates a supportive environment that promotes innovative employees and high morale.
    • Develops a qualified, engaged, certified staff and leadership team to support the systems in production throughout the health system.
    • Assigns responsibilities, projects and tasks to staff reporting to this postion, balances skills and workload of the group to ensure the best support and customer satisfaction.
    • Supervises staff and manages employee performance; provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verfies competancy and identified and suggests ways to develop skills.
    • Maintains external relationships with vendors to ensure appropriate support, issue escalation, and to achieve the maximum savings for Eisenhower Health.
    • Reviews end-user surveys and ensures proper expedient follow up with all negative surveys received.
    • Champions and promotes effective system selection options, system support and process redesign with Eisenhower leadership. Recommends the use of IT to improve quality and the patient experience.
    • Budget responsibilities for cost center (budget preparations, budget management and budget variances).
    • Achieves management goals and responsibilities set forth by the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Remains abreast of current legislation, future legislation and changes that may affect hospital and ambulatory processes, reimbursement, compliance, billing, etc.
    • Backs up other Information Systems Directors and/or CIO in their absence.
    • Works closely with Information Systems management team to ensure unison across technology hardware, software and platforms.
    • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
