      • Required: BLS; Successful completion of Echocardiography Registry Exam with RDCS certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers within two (2) years of employment Valid current CPR from the American Heart Association
      • Preferred: RDCS certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
    • Experience
      • Required: On the job training candidates must have at least two (2) years experience in cardiovascular ultrasound setting
      • Preferred: A minimum of one (1) year of an accredited ultrasound program, performing a minimum of twenty (20) cardiac studies per week.
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of echocardiography equipment to obtain and record two-dimensional and M-mode graphic representations of the heart utilizing high frequency sound waves, in both resting and stress tests, to assist physician in the diagnosis of cardiac malfunctions, malformations and abnormalities.
    • Provides preliminary diagnostic report to physicians and final preliminary tracing interpretation to include exact assessment of the size and movement of the heart chamber, movements and timing of the heart valves for echoes and measurements of heart sounds and their origin.
    • Records results of procedure on tape, motion picture and still film; scans and inspects resultant picture and still film; scan and inspect resultant pictures and tracings to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
    • Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures to include taking vital signs and measurements, positioning patients and explaining procedures; review medical histories of patients.
    • Coordinates with pacer techs in obtaining AV Optimization results.
    • Responsible for creating an encounter for each patient documenting services performed.
    • Responsible for the physiological monitoring and care of patients.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or physician.
    • Provides documentation of personal credentials per department policy and maintains education record.
