      • Required: CA approved equivalency of CLS

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Guides activities of department staff to ensure optimal productivity.
    • Monitors and ensures that accurate quality control practices are followed by staff.
    • Guides departmental workflow to achieve optimal turnaround times utilizing HLAB LIS tools (Order Monitor, Result Monitor, etc).
    • Assists in maintaining policies and procedures to meet CAP, JCAHO, and other agency requirements.
    • Participates in evaluation and maintenance of new and existing instrumentation/procedures.
    • Assists in scheduling of section staff appropriately to achieve desired productivity standards.
    • Reviews time cards and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
    • Complies with hospital and Laboratory safety policies and procedures.
    • Complies with all State, Federal, CAP and TJC regulations.
    • Performs all duties of section staff.
    • Participates in implementation of new testing procedures and participates in training staff.
    • Monitors and maintains orders and supplies for department.
    • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
    • Performs additional duties as needed.
