  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • This position is responsible for Nuclear Medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures, scheduling and pre- procedure patient preparation parameters, routine nuclear medicine camera operation, "hot lab" operation, accurate record keeping, radiation safety regulations. Knowledge of computer – based systems is required to access PACS and Information Systems programs. The NMT will be a team player with interpersonal relations with physicians, patients and staff.

      • Required: ARRT or NMTCB or ASCP,California State license, American Heart Association BLS
    • Experience
      • Required: 1 -3 years of experience
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Utilizes proper radiation protection measures to protect patient and all persons present from excessive exposure, follow ALARA guidelines.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of patient’s age-specific need and provide the appropriate care.
    • Informs patient of the nature of the exam, explain details and answer questions prior to starting the procedure.
    • Obtains appropriate medical history, consents as needed, verify pregnancy / breast feeding status if appropriate and document such information.
    • Documents any changes in patient’s status using appropriate forms and notify RN if condition warrants.
    • Prioritizes STAT procedures and be available on – call as assigned / scheduled.
    • Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures of highest technical quality. Assist Radiologist as necessary.
    • Proficient in use of all Nuclear Medicine imaging / monitoring equipment, and reporting all deficiencies / irregularities to immediate supervisor.
    • Documents procedures appropriately in: PACS, SYNTRAX, patient chart, required forms and billing.
    • Prioritizes procedures and utilize time wisely to complete daily workload within scheduled shift.
    • Maintains cleanliness of Nuclear Medicine imaging areas as well as the "Hot Lab".
    • Performs Quality Control procedures on imaging, monitoring and surveying equipment.
    • Checks supplies and stock as necessary, reporting any deficiencies to supervisor.
    • Creates Staff Schedule.
    • Performs Annual Evaluations of Staff & Reviews Time Cards. Participates in weekly radiology leadership team meetings.
    • Leads all certification efforts for American College of Radiology.
    • Audits Film Badge reports and communicates any excessive badge readings to Radiology Director and Radiation Safety Officer.
    • Orders supplies for department. Reviews and submits isotope invoices to Radiology Director. Leads all initiatives to evaluate isotope usage, new isotopes and isotope pharmacies.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
