  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • The position is responsible for assisting with escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for exams and discharge. Performing vital signs and ensuring the accurate documentation of patient care activity, maintaining a quality standard of care, anticipating daily workload, prioritizing activities and coordinating the workload of other employees at the Clinic. Providing patient care including safe medication administration. Coordinates the care of the patient, facilitating physician orders and other duties as needed.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Preferred: Associates Degree
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: CA LVN License, American Heart Association BLS
    • Experience
      • Required: Recent experience in a physician office or urgent care setting
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Obtain medical history and assists physicians, so that appropriate preparation, examination and diagnostic testing occur without error and without delay.
    • Administers medications within scope of practice.
    • Ensures accurate documentation of all patient care activity.
    • Communicates supply needs to manager so that appropriately stocked work areas are maintained.
    • Answers telephone in a polite efficient manner; takes clear and accurate messages, transfers calls.
    • Provides timely and appropriate discharge instructions to patients.
    • Prepares patient charts timely and accurately.
    • Gathers reports to complete chart.
    • Places order for films, labs and other studies as appropriate, timely and accurate.
    • Prints daily schedules for the injection clinic.
    • Assists with the release of patient records to patients.
    • Schedules follow up patients visits.
    • Collaborates with the scheduling of new patients.
    • Ensures patient information is correctly entered in the database.
    • Answers phones, retrieves voicemail messages and returns calls timely and appropriately.
    • Confirms patient appointments timely.
    • Demonstrates cost effectiveness by using judgment when opening and using supplies
    • Maximizes free time between patients and other duties to assist with cleaning and organizing workstation, cleaning rooms, and filing.
    • Performs patient callbacks with information about test results or for quality customer service.
    • Coordinates breaks and lunch periods for team members so as not to compromise patient flow.
    • Language, appearance and behavior reflect the EMC Behavioral Standards.
    • Demonstrates commitment to the EMC Behavioral Standards for all interactions.
    • Answers all patient questions and request in a timely manner.
    • Ensures competencies and accuracy of all forms filled and signed by patients.
    • Faxes and copies necessary information to insurance companies other physician offices and other facilities as needed.
    • Performs other duties as requested.
