  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • A licensed Vocational Nurse provides care to a specific group of patients as delegated by and under the supervision of an R.N. The L.V.N. collects data and reports significant findings to R.N. An L.V.N. performs basic nursing skills and maintains positive interpersonal relations with peers, patients, patient’s families and physicians.

      • Required: California LVN License with IV Certification reflected on license & American Heart Association BLS

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Collects data and reports findings to R.N. on new admission within two hours of admit.
    • Communicates data on patient assessment to R.N. assigned responsibility of patient.
    • Contributes in collaboration with R.N. to the patient care plan.
    • Demonstrates implementation skills in accordance with EMH Policy, standards of care and Nurse Practice Act.
    • Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and patients progress toward expected outcomes every shift.
    • Maintains lab and other diagnostic test results and reports in a timely manner to R.N.
    • Aides individual teaching plan for each patient, based upon plan of care by R.N.
    • Works under direction of R.N. and completes assignments as directed..
    • Manages patient assignment within assigned shift.
    • Utilizes non-patient care time to help other Nurses with care.
    • Ensures that care reflects goals of P.I. activities.
    • Documents legibility, completes patient care records, uses approved abbreviations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Performs basic nursing skills.
    • Performs specialized nursing.
