  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Under the direction of the Radiation Oncology Physicists, in cooperation with the Radiation Oncologists (physicians), perform treatment planning procedures including computerized dosimetry, special dose and area calculations. Completes plans ranging from adolescence to geriatric. Contributes to the continuity and quality of care, in particular assuring excellent communication amongst all sections of the department (physicians, nurse, therapists, and front office.)

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Preferred: Two-year Associate Degree
      • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: Training for accredited dosimetry program; American Heart Association BLS
      • Preferred: ARRT ; State Certification,Certified Medical Dosimetrist,
    • Experience
      • Required: 3-5 Years in acute care facility in radiation therapy.
      • Preferred: IMRT experience
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • 3-D computer generated treatment planning.
    • Produce quality work in a timely manner.
    • Communicating with co-workers on many issues which relate directly with patient care.
    • Managing time effectively and efficiently.
    • Ability to communicate with coworkers regarding treatment planning and implementing dosimetry plan changes, set-ups, etc.
    • Enters all dosimetry charges in accurately and timely.
    • Produces 3-5 treatment plans per day.
    • Captures dosimetry charges in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Other duties as assigned.
