Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Updates patient charts and verifies patient insurance and benefits eligibility timely and accurately.
- Processes all federal, state and local disability forms for patients, if applicable.
- Processes legal request for billing and records, if applicable.
- Releases medical records to patients and other agencies.
- Ensures proper HIPAA forms and other required forms are completed and signed accordingly.
- Collects appropriate form processing fees; documents collected form processing fees accurately.
- Processes old charts for archiving.
- Processes dictated reports timely and accurately; downloads dictations for processing by transcriptionist; follows-up on all missing dictated reports; distributes dictated reports to the appropriate referring physicians, if applicable.
- Follows up on all comparisons and sends information to transcriptionist timely, if applicable.
- Processes all patient reminder letters daily to include follow up and annual patient letters, if applicable.
- Uploads all incoming images into PACS and EPIC; releases imaging requests to patients and facilities in a timely manner; follows up on all outstanding patient requests; requests prior imaging for patients, if applicable.
- Assists physicians; prepares charts for physician review, if applicable.
- Obtains physician signatures on appropriate documents.
- Answers phones, retrieves voicemails and emails timely and appropriately; returns patient calls in a timely manner.
- Obtains daily USPS mail and distributes appropriately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
