  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Works under supervision of the Manager. Supervises, trains, schedules and directs volunteers in area of assigned responsibility. Sales and customer service representative. Operates cash register.  Handles donated merchandise including receipt, pricing, and inventory. Responsible for setup and display of donated merchandise. Assumes responsibility during absence of Manager. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Preferred: Two year college education with courses in management, bookkeeping and basic computer operation.
    • Licensure/Certification
      • N/A
    • Experience
      • Required: Three years prior retail management experience
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violation.
    • Adheres to stores’ Policies and Procedures.
    • Oversees appearance of store and the placement of new merchandise.
    • Accounts for receipt, inventory, handling and sales of all donated merchandise.
    • Ability to open and close the store and set alarm system.
    • Handles and accounts for monies received.
    • Demonstrates excellent customer service and sales skills.
    • Works with Manager on advertising.
    • Maintains courteous and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, volunteers, customers and donors.
    • Operates cash register and waits on customers.
    • Reports to Manager on a regular basis.
    • Oversees general condition of merchandise such as cleaning and repair.
    • Answers phone.
    • Plans bulletin board signage.
    • Responds to the Alarm after hours when Manager is not available.
    • Assists in unloading small items from truck and from warehouse to store floor for display.
    • Assists in ensuring lunchroom/break area is kept neat and clean.
    • Fills in on days off when needed (vacation, sick days, etc).
    • May be responsible for making bank deposits.
    • May be responsible for ensuring store is clean and safe for customers.
    • May be responsible for participating in general orientation for new volunteers.
    • May be responsible for conducting annual reorientation and training for volunteers;
    • May be responsible for overseeing, training, and scheduling Volunteers in area of responsibility.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
