This position is responsible for Nuclear Medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures, scheduling and pre-procedure patient preparation parameters, routine nuclear medicine camera operation, accurate record keeping, radiation safety regulations.

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates proficiency in all nuclear medicine procedures, using initiative in special positioning needs of individual patients.

Calibrates and draws up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients; formulate radiopharmaceutical materials.
-
Calculates data to include results of patient studies and radioactive decay.

Calibrates instruments and review calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction.

Practices good radiation safety procedure pertaining to the preparation, handling and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.

Operates all imaging and auxiliary equipment according to written procedures/protocols, demonstrating proficiency on all equipment.

Responsible for documenting pertinent clinical history and symptoms.

Maintains a working knowledge of medications used in nuclear medicine.

Responsible for the physiological monitoring and care of patients during nuclear medicine procedures.

Maintains proficiency in starting IV lines and follows proper injection procedure.
-
Maintains inventory of supplies in assigned area; prepare and maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing and disposal activities.

Responsible for submitting nuclear charge tickets for each patient procedure at the close of business day.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or physician.
