Job Objective: The Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a member of the General Surgery multidisciplinary health team providing direct patient care to General Surgery patients working within the scope of the Certified Nurse Practitioner License and hospital privileges. The NP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and provides leadership to the organization and nursing profession.
Education Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing and completion of Nurse Practitioner Program.
Licensure/Certification Required: California license as Advanced Nurse Practitioner including certification in relevant nursing specialty; California Nurse Practitioner Furnisher number; ACLS.
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years relevant experience providing acute patient care in a surgical or similar setting.
