Qualifications

Education

Required: Associates degree course work completed for Information Systems or other technical degree

Licensure/Certification

Preferred: MCSE and A+ certifications

Experience

Required: 3-5 years experience configuring/troubleshooting PC hardware and operating systems or equivalent formal education.

Preferred: 5 years in healthcare/hospital environment

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
-
Effectively and politely communicates with IS staff members, vendors and users. Facilitates communication between these groups to identify system issues. Assists to reach resolution of issues.

Assists in maintenance of all current systems.

Works as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
-
Troubleshoots issues to the best of knowledge base.
-
Contacts appropriate associate or vendor for issues not resolved by troubleshooting and documented procedures.

Ensures backups have completed successfully and media is rotated to off site storage vendor.

Accepts additional tasks when asked.

Documents procedures as needed.
-
Runs scheduled jobs according to procedures.
-
Performs printer/PC troubleshooting/repairs as needed during shifts. May also work non-Operations shifts with the desktop support group as needed.

Performs daily written shift status. Turns over any open issues to the next shift verbally for follow up or resolution.

Assists in communications between IS personnel and vendor representatives.
-
Utilizes effective time- management skills as well as organizational and personal skills to work with a variety of people.

Assures that all necessary documentations (i.e., procedures, processes) are properly completed and distributed to other associates.

Maintains a high level of confidentiality. Does not access patient data or personnel data unless required for job performance. Does not discuss any patient, personnel or hospital confidential information outside the responsibilities of the job.

Ensures that email and calendar indicate unavailability with alternative contact when out of office.
-
Timely notification of urgent issues to management and appropriate effected departments regarding systems downtimes.
