Job Objective:
Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the mission and programs of the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center. This role involves cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, managing fundraising events, and participating in grant writing efforts.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major gifts by researching and identifying potential major donors, including individuals and foundations.
- Builds and maintains relationships with prospects, engaging them through personalized outreach and cultivation strategies.
- Solicits major gifts through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and written proposals.
- Develops a list of potential donors and supporters to invite to fundraising events, such as parlor meetings and the Champion’s Honor Luncheon.
- Utilizes the extensive “Country Club” network within the Coachella Valley for presentations, parlor meetings and solicitations.
- Coordinates with Board members and staff to ensure a successful and engaging experience for attendees.
- Works with the BSCC Database Manager to ensure the donor database is accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive.
- Utilizes the database to track donor interactions, preferences, and giving history to enable targeted and effective fundraising efforts.
- Works with the CEO in the grant writing process, from identifying funding opportunities to developing proposals and submitting applications.
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting to funders, demonstrating the impact of their support.
- Directs and oversees all fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with the Center's mission and strategic goals including managing the BSCC Donor Relations and Events personnel.
- Engages stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners, to foster strong relationships and support for the Center.
- Creates a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes annual revenue goals, timelines, and specific initiatives; implements the plan effectively, adjusting tactics as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Works closely with key staff and Board members to develop compelling case statements that communicate the Center's needs and impact.
- Ensures case statements are tailored for varied audiences, including individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
- Collects and documents stories that highlight the Center's impact on individuals and the community; uses these stories in fundraising materials, presentations, and communications to illustrate the Center's value and inspire donor support.
- Communicates the Center's mission, values, and impact to donors, prospects, and high-level supporters; uses storytelling and data to illustrate the Center's work and its importance to the community.
- Attends and participates in meetings, events, and conferences to network with potential donors and partners.
- Serves as an ambassador for the Center, promoting its mission and programs to external audiences.
- Maintains detailed records of interactions with prospects and donors, including contact information, status, and follow-up actions; uses these records to inform and guide future fundraising efforts.
- Assess progress against fundraising goals and benchmarks, identifying areas for improvement and adjustment on a regular basis; uses data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and tactics.
- Ensures donor tracking systems are accurate and up-to-date, providing a clear picture of fundraising activities and outcomes.
- Generates reports that summarize donor interactions, giving history, and overall fundraising progress.
- Prepares and presents regular reports to key staff and the Board of Directors, highlighting fundraising achievements and challenges; uses these reports to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Provides detailed updates on fundraising activities and outcomes to the Director/Executive Officer and Board.
- Ensures transparency and accountability in all fundraising efforts.
- Provides sample materials and best practices to support effective fundraising efforts.
- Collaborates with the database specialist to ensure all gifts are processed, recorded, and acknowledged promptly and accurately.
- Implements systems and procedures to streamline gift processing and donor recognition.
- Supports the Executive Director in identifying and evaluating potential new Board members.
- Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors based on candidates' qualifications and alignment with the Center's mission.
