  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Works under the supervision of the Director of Construction Services. Manages the construction of multiple new and renovation projects as directed by the director.  Ensures projects are completed on time and on budget.  Works closely with the Architects, Interior Designers, Engineers and Contractors on all projects.  Works in collaboration with the Facilities Department to make sure the Health Systems facilities are well maintained and in good repair at all times. Assists other Project Managers under the direction of the Director of Construction Services. In the absence of the Director, the Senior Project Manager will lead the department and will provide updates to the Vice President as appropriate. Works with other hospital departments during the various phases of construction and final completion. Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required:  Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Project Manager, Engineering or Construction Management
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Preferred: OSHPD – IOR C level
    • Experience
      • Required: 7 years project management experience
      • Preferred: 5 years in a healthcare setting; experience with state agencies/OSHPD; design development
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Manages all stages of construction of new and renovation projects as directed by the Director of Construction Services which includes the activities of contractors, management of budgeted expenses, scheduling, code guidelines and documents to ensure that the end product meets owners (EMC) specifications.
    • Work closely with the engineers, architects, interior designers on potential & approved construction projects.
    • Assists other project managers under the direction of the Director of Construction Services.
    • In the absence of the Director, will lead the department and provide updates to the Vice President of Construction Services as appropriate.
    • Develop and maintain construction schedules and budgets and ensure project schedules are met.
    • Works with local and state agencies to meet building codes and requirements, secures permits as required.
    • Works in collaboration with the Facilities Department to make sure the Health Systems facilities are well maintained and in good repair at all times, assist will any construction/maintenance issues.
    • Ensure construction projects are performed within hospital guidelines for infection control.
    • Coordinate “shut downs” of hospital systems for tie-ins due to construction.
    • Coordinate with various departments in the closure and reopening of construction/remodeled areas.
    • Review and pre-approve construction billings.
    • Accounts for Quality Control on all projects.
    • Prepares space planning and design documents for tenant improvement and remodel projects as requested.
    • Meet with tenants and/or occupants to discuss and coordinate office improvements, including equipment & furniture.
    • Promptly communicates any delay in project schedule.
    • Works to resolve disputes between contractors and EMC.
    • Updates plans as construction projects are completed.
    • Provides floor plans and construction plans/documents for other departments as needed.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
