  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • The radiology technician will have operating knowledge of radiology equipment and be proficient in performing a variety of radiology imaging utilizing all aspects of radiology equipment in the EDOC locations including physician clinics, outpatient surgery, and interventional pain management. Works well with physicians and staff to deliver excellent patient care in the clinic, operating room or interventional pain management setting.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Preferred: Graduation from an accredited educational program in diagnostic Radiology Technology approved by the American Medical Association and the American College of Radiology
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: CRT (California State License), ARRT, American Heart Association BLS, Fluoro (within six months from date of hire, anyone hired before 2/1/2019 must obtain Fluoro certification by 10/1/2019)
    • Experience
      • Required: 1-2 years of Hospital and/or out-patient radiology experience.
      • Preferred: Worked at least two years’ experience in orthopedics, surgery, and/or interventional radiology.
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Performs appropriate procedures as ordered. Assist Physician performing procedure.
    • Assists staff and/or physician as necessary in performing procedures.
    • Interviews patient and places patient on examining table following protocols set up by the Physicians and EMC.
    • Obtains appropriate physician order, medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.
    • Enters correct Patient’s information and orders into electronic documentation as appropriate.
    • Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient and all from excessive radiation.
    • Views final images to insure optimum quality.
    • Completes patient exam and takes patient back to assigned area.
    • Makes certain all x-ray charges are entered into electronic medical record.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of patients age-specific needs and provides the care needed.
    • Follows ALARA guideline.
    • Uses Universal Precautions in all situations.
    • Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms and contacts Physician, RN, or appropriate person when necessary.
    • Prioritizes procedures, organize patient flow and keep communication with staff/physicians.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of O.R. sterile field precautions.
    • Maintains proficiency in the use of all Radiology equipment and Performs Radiographic procedures of highest technical quality.
    • Addresses all patient, physician, staff, and concerns/complaints within the area immediately. Refers any unresolved concerns/complaints to a Director or designee immediately with all facts and data.
    • Notifies the lead tech, Director or designee when demands for service exceed the ability to provide expected standards of service.
    • Maintains cleanliness of Radiology equipment in; Radiology department, Operating Room and Pain Management Interventional Department.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
