Job Objective:
Works under direction of the Vice President, Human Resources and in collaboration with Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and clinical Hiring Managers to support workforce planning, interviewing, selecting and hiring RN and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) applicants within the health care organization

Education:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s in Nursing
Licensure/Certification:
Required: CA licensed Registered Nurse
Experience:
Required: 3+ years in candidate interviewing and selection for RN/APP positions within an acute care setting, or equivalent clinical experience
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Markets the organization to prospective applicants.
- Interviews applicants for open positions within the parameters of legal guidelines.
- Hires applicants and oversees the complete new hire process.
- Tracks current strategies used to obtain new hires.
- Recommends modifications or additions to recruitment and selection procedures/policies.
- Develops and maintains: an aggressive recruitment culture; short and long-term cost effective recruitment plans and strategies.
- Develops and maintains: an applicant pool and hires; an effective interview process for selecting “best fit” hires, timely applicant life cycle milestones.
- Develops and maintains relationships with the various nursing programs/schools, recruitment sources, community and agency contacts and professional associations.
- Partners with the Hiring Managers to develop recruitment strategies for key positions.
- Remains aware of internal projects and staffing changes.
- Effectively manages relationships with outside recruitment agencies.
- Identifies employment and occupational trends. Provides market focused consultative resources.
- During periods of heavy workloads, assists others as necessary, including additional requests from management.
- In conjunction with recruitment advertising company, maintains Careers page to ensure positions are posted accurately.
- Facilitates training and knowledge sharing with Hiring Managers related to the HRIS module.
- Attends and participates in career days, job fairs and related recruitment activities on behalf of the organization.
Essential Skils:
- Proven ability in workforce planning and recruitment techniques
- Assists with developing recruitment plans for Registered Nurses and other difficult to fill positions
- Identifies and attends state, regional or national nursing recruitment events including career fairs, open interviewing days, and/or technical college recruiting as appropriate
- Must be results-orientated with strong organizational skills and show the ability to influence and negotiate
- Demonstrates self-initiative and innovation with a passion for recruitment
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with recruitment job boards and candidate database mining
- Professional competency including consultation skills and thorough knowledge of the industry
- Requires excellent communication skills
- Utilizes and leverages technology (ie, social media, databases, etc) to source and mine candidates across the country and, if necessary, abroad
- Recommends research and analyzes data in support of the development and evaluation of recruitment trends emerging in clinical recruiting
- Evaluates nursing publications/advertising and research media markets to determine targeted, cost effective campaigns for specialized positions
