  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Functions as the medical center's manager and implementer of all patient safety activities, programs, and policies. The RN-Program Manager Patient Safety is responsible for ensuring that all safety programs and initiatives developed by Eisenhower Health are systematically completed.
    • Acts as the medical center's key person and work with others to help build and implement safety systems and promote the culture of safety within the medical center and for EH patients in all healthcare settings including clinical areas and community ambulatory clinics.
    • Works closely with the Director Inpatient and Ambulatory Quality and Patient Safety, to lead and direct staff across all services in the operation of the medical center's patient safety program. This includes working with all levels of staff within the facility, including top-level management.
    • Maintains cooperative working relationships with other key medical center employees such as Executive Leadership, Physicians, Nursing Directors, Managers and all other staff.
    • Is primary responsible for translating the policies, theories, and strategies into action within the complex interrelationships that exist related to patient safety.
    • Responsible for training and implementing the patient safety and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process to clinicians, management, and all relevant support personnel within their facilities and associated facilities and operations.
    • Maintains clear communication between the medical center and the state and regulatory agencies.
    • Takes all patient safety information from a variety of sources and implement actions across all areas in the hospital and ambulatory clinics.
    • Provides leadership in improving patient care, maintaining standards of care, and directing and teaching personnel in a variety of settings.
    • Manages and facilitates the oversight of clinical practices that provides consistency and promotes high quality patient care.
    • Responsible for ensuring implementation of Joint Commission, Leapfrog, and other regulatory standards that relate to patient safety processes within the hospital and ambulatory clinics and assisting all clinical services in implementing patient safety procedures to ensure successful Joint Commission surveys, as well as all other external and internal surveys.
    • Plays a critical support role in developing and coordinating internal review systems to assure that both clinical and administrative patient safety activities follow agency and accrediting standards and regulatory requirements.
