The RN – Quality Outcomes Analyst – Magnet Program will assist in measuring and analyzing clinical data to improve quality of patient care for the nursing organization through the identification and promotion of best practices that ensure clinical effectiveness and efficiency for Eisenhower Health.

Required: California RN license

Required: ANCC Approved Nursing Certification such as Healthcare Quality Certification (CPHQ) or other relevant nursing certification or will obtain within 12 months of hire or earlier if eligibility requirements have been met.

Experience

Required: Three years’ clinical experience as a registered nurse

Preferred: Experience in performance/quality improvement activities and/or experience in healthcare analytics

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
-
Utilizes evidence-based practice (EBP) to establish standards for all quality activities.
-
Functions as the NDNQI Site Coordinator and works independently to manage data collection and data entry for the NDNQI database.
-
Monitors nursing patient satisfaction data (Press Ganey & NRC) for all inpatient and ambulatory settings identified on the ANCC Magnet Demographic Data Collection Tool.

Identifies possible quality of care issues through research and data analysis.
-
Designs and generates reports illustrating compliance of the nursing organization with national benchmarks for all nurse indicators, e.g., monthly, quarterly dashboards.

Collaborates with Eisenhower Health’s Quality Department to ensure timely and accurate reporting of nursing data.

Communicates with interprofessional team members and participates in appropriate committees regarding nursing data.

Provides education to customers regarding nursing process-outcome data, specific data elements and other issues as identified.

Works with Nurse Leaders and Unit-Based Councils to establish unit specific goals for improvement with nonperforming indicators.

Organizes and manages projects utilizing the ANCC Magnet Empirical Outcomes format and the Iowa Model to achieve sustained improvements.
-
Implements tracking systems to measure the effectiveness interventions.

Completes the online data input for the bi-annual ANCC Demographic Data Collection Tool that includes staffing, nursing degrees and certifications for all units/departments, nurse sensitive indicators and patient satisfaction for the prior 24 month period, and results from the most recent nurse satisfaction survey.

Supports the writing of the Magnet document to include identification of exemplars, supporting data for EO standards and all graphs.

Actively participates in Shared Governance and encourages the development and participation of front-line staff.

Functions as the Nursing Quality Liaison to the Nursing Professional Practice and Quality Council to advance practice, improve patient care and the nursing practice environment.

Coordinates Shared Governance activities for all councils:
-
a. Secures meeting sites and catering provisions,
b. Facilitates monthly Coordinating Council meetings for agenda planning for all councils.
c. Records, transcribes, distributes and posts to IkeRN all council meeting agendas, minutes, handouts and sign in sheets in a timely manner.
