  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Works under the supervision of the Executive Chef. Responsible for negotiating the purchase of goods as directed by FoodBuy and our Managed order guides. Is accountable for all duties related to the efficient and cost conscious procurement of equipment and supplies utilized by FNS. Responsible for overseeing other store room personnel to keep all items properly stored, rotated and maintained according to regulations. Responsible for inventory for the purpose of maintaining par levels. Places orders with vendors and monitors vendor performance. Performs other duties as assigned

    • Education
      • Required: High school Diploma, GED or Higher Level Degree

    • Licensure/Certification
      • N/A

    • Experience
      • Required:  Five (5) Years of Food Service Experience
      • Preferred: Experience in purchasing, inventory control and warehousing
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Reviews, processes and monitors purchase requests.
    • Resolves purchase order/invoice discrepancies.
    • Responsible for requesting Return Authorization or Return for Credit from vendor within (5) five days upon receipt of goods and return request from originating department.
    • Responsible for notifying affected personnel or department of a backorder situation, communicating the estimated time of arrival from vendor. Offers department a substitute item if appropriate and makes every effort to satisfy customer’s needs.
    • Consistently answers the phone, identifying oneself and the department name in a courteous manner.
    • Consistently responds to voice-mail and e-mails within the same business day to acknowledge receipt of the communication.
    • Makes sure that all Purchasing Assistants are following all policy and procedures regarding food safety, sanitation and responsibilities related to their jobs.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.
