  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Works under supervision of Director of Volunteer Services (DVS). Develops, organizes and coordinates volunteer schedules to meet regularly scheduled, substitute and temporary assignments. Assists DVS with organization and supervision of department's operations and volunteer personnel. Oversees daily operations of the Volunteer Office. Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Education
      • Required: HS Diploma or equivalent
      • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in social science
    • Licensure/Certification
      • N/A
    • Experience
      • Preferred: 1 years of experience in a volunteer department setting
      • Preferred: 1 years of experience as a volunteer
      • Preferred: 1 years of experience utilizing Volgistics Software
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
    • Assists the directors in daily operations of the Volunteer Services Department
    • Substitutes for the DVS when he/she is out of the office
    • Oversees the daily functions of volunteers assigned to departments in the main hospital departments
    • Processes applications of prospective volunteers and arranges for interview, training, orientation and placement
    • Responsible for scheduling volunteers and finding substitutes when volunteers are not available for their assignments
    • Oversees preparations and materials for monthly Orientations and annual Reorientations
    • Is the liaison between the Volunteer Services Department and the staff in all Medical Center departments, on and off campus, where volunteers serve
    • Coordinates training of new volunteers
    • Assists DVS in organizing and preparing programs for special events
    • Collaborates with DVS in developing objectives to promote efficiency in the department
    • Manages daily office operations : maintains stock of office supplies, keeps all files updated and oversees all basic office functions
    • Oversees computer operations for all data pertaining to volunteer activity and monthly reports of volunteers' hours for over 750 volunteers
    • Manages, supervises and coordinates the Junior Volunteer Program
    • Assists in planning National Volunteer week and all events honoring the service of volunteers
    • Manages all HR mandated annual and bi-annual compliance requirements for volunteers
