Eisenhower Health ranks #1 in the Inland Empire and #12 in California.
The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 34th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or common elective procedures.
“To be ranked #1 in the Inland Empire by U.S. News & World Report is a tremendous honor,” says Martin Massiello, President and Chief Executive Officer for Eisenhower Health. “This recognition, on the heels of Eisenhower receiving five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, underscores our commitment to providing the safe, compassionate care our generous community has come to expect from Eisenhower Health. This recognition belongs to every member of our organization. I couldn’t be more proud of our exceptional team.”
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions; only 12% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care, and patient experience.
Eisenhower Health was recognized as high-performing in three nationally ranked adult specialties: Geriatrics, Neurology & Neurosurgery, and Orthopedics. Only the top 10% of hospitals nationwide in these specialties were recognized as high-performing.
Eisenhower Health achieved the distinction of High-Performing in 17 different types of care, marking the highest number of specialty recognitions awarded to a hospital in the Inland Empire. These high-performing specialties include:
Aortic Valve Surgery, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Colon Cancer Surgery, Diabetes, Geriatrics, Heart Attack, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, Hip Fracture, Hip Replacement, Kidney Failure, Knee Replacement, Leukemia, Lymphoma & Myeloma, Lung Cancer Surgery, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pneumonia, Prostate Cancer Surgery, Spinal Fusion & Stroke
The U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings primarily rely on objective metrics, including risk-adjusted survival rates, discharge-to-home rates, health care volume, and nursing quality, among various other care-related indicators.
Eisenhower Health Earns “A” Grade in 2023: A Year of Excellence and Achievements
Eisenhower Health received an “A” in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for Spring 2023. This national distinction recognizes Eisenhower Health’s achievements in protecting patients from harm and errors in the hospital.
The Leapfrog Group, a national organization, has been evaluating hospitals across the United States for over a decade. Their assessments revolve around a hospital’s capacity to mitigate medical errors and safeguard patients from harm. Utilizing a transparent, peer-reviewed grading system ranging from A to F, these evaluations are made accessible to the general public. The Hospital Safety Grade ratings are determined through an analysis of over 30 national performance metrics, with updates provided biannually during the fall and spring.
Eisenhower Health is honored to receive this award as many hospitals saw a deterioration with the pandemic and despite all the challenges the leaders, staff, volunteers, and clinicians at Eisenhower Health came together to make this achievement possible.
Unlocking Success: A Closer Look at the Forbes Best Employers List
Eisenhower Health was named to Forbes’ America’s Best Employers List for the second time, in 2022 it was the only employer in the Coachella Valley to receive the designation. Of the thousands of companies eligible for this recognition, only a few in health care were awarded in each state. Eisenhower Health is one of only 11 health care organizations in California to be ranked.
The Forbes accolade is the result of surveying a staggering 70,000 employees from companies with 500 or more staff members.
The approach behind this ranking was as precise as it was insightful. Forbes posed two crucial questions to employees: first, how likely they were to recommend their employer to others, graded on a scale from zero to 10. Second, they inquired about the sentiments employees harbored toward other employers in their respective industries. All these inquiries were conducted anonymously online, ensuring that the process remained independent of employer influence. Furthermore, the respondents were carefully selected to represent the diverse tapestry of the U.S. workforce, encompassing gender, age, region, education, and ethnicity.
Martin Massiello, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eisenhower Health, expressed his elation at this remarkable achievement. He remarked, “We are honored to be named for a second time in Forbes America’s Best Employers List. The culture we have cultivated at Eisenhower Health fosters not only diversity and inclusion but also collaboration and innovation. Our amazing employees are dedicated to providing the very best in patient care each and every day. And, while many components of the Forbes’ survey brought us great pride, it was our employees’ enthusiasm to recommend Eisenhower Health to someone else that made us the most proud.”
Our outstanding achievement on Forbes’ America’s Best Employers List for 2022 is a testament to Eisenhower Health’s unwavering commitment to fostering a nurturing and empowering work environment.
