Job Objective:
Responsible for overseeing the Epic Willow applications, BPA and Reporting Workbench related Clinical Decision Support and IS related Medication Management processes and technology. Provides Epic and technical insight to the Director of Pharmacy and ensures clinical applications are configured in support of EMC’s goals related to provide ideal patient care and receives a multi-rater review annually by the Director of Pharmacy. Works with Eisenhower Pharmacy informatics, operations and Medical Staff leadership in the design and implementation of the Epic Willow, Beacon and decision support applications. Provides best practice advice on Willow medication management workflows, pharmacy technology and decision support.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Provides oversight of the Pharmacy and decision support related IS projects, resolution of Service Requests and incident tickets while advancing the clinical analyst team skillsets.
- Utilizes excellent time and project management skills as well as organizational and personal skills to work with a variety of people.
- Evaluates analyst performance and completes performance reviews for the analyst team members as assigned.
- Ensures team members follow IS change management and Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines on all projects.
- Mentors and assists others in utilizing Epic and IS tools and methodologies.
- Sets the example and guides others achieving a high level of customer service satisfaction.
- Ensures appropriate resource allocation within the group, managing assignments and overseeing timely completion of new implementations and bi-annual upgrades.
- Acts as the IS liaison for Pharmacy, clinical decision support leaders and medication management teams.
- Works collaboratively with the pharmacy informatics team and operations to identify, design and implement technology, decision support and medication related improvement opportunities that support the achievement of Eisenhower’s goals and objectives.
- Provides oversight of the Epic Willow new hire training processes for the Pharmacy ensuring classroom training is complete prior to provisioning.
- Collaborates the informatics team to ensure there is a smooth handoff for post classroom support.
- Facilitates the development of Epic design templates and tools that enhance the documentation of operational requirements and increase the efficiency of the build and implementation of changes.
- Communicates with IS staff members, vendors and users, and facilitates communication between these groups to identify system needs, modifications, and/or issues. Works with these groups to reach resolution of issues, defines necessary modifications and develop solutions.
- Ensures that all necessary documentation (i.e., procedures, processes) is properly completed.

- Skilled at mentoring others, including junior and experienced clinical analysts and informatics team members
- Experienced facilitator, able to lead teams through the IS project phases
- Provides guidance and advises the Pharmacy Informatics, Medical Staff and Nursing on Epic Willow medication management and decision support
- Excellent communication skills, ability to listen, understand and communicate back a summary of the issues and plan for resolution/enhancement etc
- Ability to organize, assign and manage IS work (Jira incidents, Service Requests and projects) to ensure efficient work practices
- Under the leadership of the Director Clinical Applications supervises the Willow analysts and coordinates the activities of the clinical analysts responsible for clinical decision support including reporting workbench and best practice alert development
- Collaborative and able to maintain positive interpersonal relations with peers, operational team members, providers and vendors
- Ability to determine the most effective reporting tools and processes to assess whether a given CDS feature is working as designed or requires revision

- Skilled in the design, build and implementation of clinical decision support features in Epic (BPAs, alternative alerts, order sets, scoring systems, etc)
