Job Objective:

Assists the RCAHT Task Force in raising awareness of child human trafficking, both labor and sex, and its relevance and impact, through education around recognition and reporting.

Job Description:

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field

Licensure/Certification:

Required: Valid California Driver License and a clean driving record

Experience:

Preferred: Experience in human trafficking, sexual assault or related field

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
  • Educates the community about steps to recognize, prevent and report appropriately human trafficking both labor and sex.
  • Trains various partners and outside agencies regarding information on improving knowledge and indicators of human trafficking concentrating on both labor and sex.
  • Seeks out opportunities with other agencies, civic groups, churches, businesses such as restaurant and entertainment entities, construction workers, and domestic labor groups to provide education, awareness, and issues around human trafficking both labor and sex.
  • Consults with Lived Experience Board and Lideres Campesinas to review and develop outreach materials to improve identification of human trafficking by the community and first responders.
  • Assists the Training and Education Specialist, Community Service Officer in planning, coordination, and promotion of all educational initiatives and community and educational events with the support of OVC Training and Technical Center.
  • Implements and formats presentations for various targeted audiences.
  • Seeks out and participates in any training that would enhance the ability of the RCAHT to strengthen its presentation to the community and outside agencies on recognizing, reporting, and preventing human trafficking both labor and sex.
  • Reports to Co-Lead RCAHT and task force coordinator on trends, updates, issues and concerns.
  • Assists Task Force Coordinator with RCAHT responsibilities as needed.
  • Monitors the inventory and manages the ordering of education materials as needed.
  • Researches latest developments and current trends relevant to the field of human trafficking
  • Works synergistically with the Training and Education Specialist and CSO to develop a strategic plan that outlines outreach activities and training that prioritizes target populations.
  • Conducts strategic outreach and education to businesses and other facilities that may come into contact with at-risk individuals or victims of human trafficking, alongside an RCAHT Response Team Advocate and the CSO. This can include motels, massage parlors, train or bus stations, etc.
  • Builds partnerships with community leaders to strengthen community capacity and response to human trafficking.
  • Assists the community in identifying and developing needed services for human trafficking victims.
  • Works with community partners to establish and implement a streamlined response to suspected human trafficking victims.
  • Identifies or develops outreach materials for community members.
  • Conducts community trainings and trainings with partner agencies regarding labor and sex trafficking identification and appropriate responses.
  • Provides outreach and education to professionals and community members regarding best practices in the areas of recognition and response to suspected and identified victims of human trafficking.
  • Maintains relationships with local human trafficking service agencies.
  • Attends all RCAHT meetings and provide updates regarding work in the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
