Job Objective:
Repairs, maintains, and calibrates biomedical and non-biomedical systems. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance according to departmental policies and guidelines. Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records of work performed. Works closely with in-house staff and outside vendors to ensure that services are cost-effective and high quality. Maintains an appropriate inventory of supply items. Assists operators with technical and operational information and training as needed. Ensures that equipment meets established standards for quality care and patient safety.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

- Completes PMs in assigned areas within
- Updates PM and inventory information to keep areas as current as possible.
- Works with Biomed team to complete PM & CM on time in all areas.
- Completes weekly personal rounds to all assigned on-campus areas.
- Contacts off-campus areas at least monthly.
- Performs repairs, maintenance, inspections & calibration per department guidelines.
- Recieves dispatched assignment, calls department or arrives in person w/in
- Completes routine repairs within
- Keeps area clean and organized.
- Uses free time to help co-workers, clean shop area, order & organize inventory, etc.
- Works to cross-train & educate co-workers in areas of personal expertise & knowledge.
- Coordinates service repairs with out-side vendors.
- Works with other Facilities departments to provide seamless, “one stop” service.
- Limits personal phone calls to items of emergency or extreme necessity only.
- Communicates open work order status intradepartmentally BEFORE taking time off.
- Provides JCAHO required equipment number and codes on EVERY applicable work order.
- Affixes P/C number, documents, and tests ALL equipment found while doing PMs and rounds.
- Follows PM task procedures as outlined noting any deviations & reasons for doing so.

- Ability to repair, document, and communicate with promptness, precision, and integrity
- Good equipment troubleshooting skills and techniques to safely repair electronic equipment
- Ability to read electronic schematics and be familiar with electronic components, boards, and systems
- Ability to be trained to safely operate all departmental electronic test equipment
- Knowledge of budget awareness by working to decrease costs & streamline service
- Ability to consistently work and communicate effectively with members of the Biomed team
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Must be capable of dealing with physicians, patients, visitors, outside vendors, and licensing agency personnel in a professionally positive manner
