Job Objective:
The PGY4 fellow is an advanced trainee responsible for developing specialized expertise in their respective medical discipline. This role involves increasing independence in patient care, enhanced procedural competency, and active participation in scholarly activities. PGY4 fellows are expected to mentor junior residents while deepening their own clinical and research experience.

Required: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); Completion of specific ACGME Program as applicable for Fellowship or AOA-approved residency program, a program with ACGME-International (ACGME-I) Advanced Specialty Accreditation, or a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)-accredited or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)-accredited residency program located in Canada

Required: Possess/obtain a Full and Unrestricted California Medical License within 90 days of Fellowship start date, Valid DEA License, BLS (ACLS, PALS as applicable for program) within 30 days of hire (to be provided in orientation as needed)

Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations.
- Provide direct patient care with progressive autonomy under attending supervision.
- Develop advanced procedural skills relevant to the specialty.
- Participate in patient rounds, case discussions, and treatment planning.
- Serve as a mentor and supervisor for junior residents.
- Conduct bedside teaching and procedural training for residents and medical students.
- Present clinical cases and educational topics at departmental meetings.
- Participate in clinical or translational research projects.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Publish case reports, literature reviews, or original research.
- Maintain ethical medical practice and professional behavior.
- Adhere to ACGME guidelines, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
- Document clinical encounters and research findings accurately.
