Experience:
Required: Three (3) years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance, including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or foreman role
Preferred: Experience maintaining large commercial, healthcare, educational, or institutional campuses; experience utilizing bilingual Spanish/English skills
Job Objective:
Responsible for overseeing the daily landscape maintenance operations of a hospital campus, ensuring that all grounds are safe, attractive and maintained to the highest standards. Supervises landscape crew members, assists in coordinating daily work schedules and performs hands-on maintenance while ensuring compliance with hospital safety regulations and environmental standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Supervises and leads landscape maintenance crews in the care of lawns, trees, shrubs, flower beds, irrigation systems and hardscape areas throughout the hospital campus.
- Plans, assigns and monitors daily work activities to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Performs and oversees mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizing, planting, weed control and seasonal landscape improvements.
- Inspects grounds regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Maintains and troubleshoots irrigation systems to ensure proper water management and conservation.
- Operates and maintains landscape equipment, tools and vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Trains crew members in proper horticultural practices, equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, infection prevention protocols and hospital policies.
- Coordinates with hospital facilities management and other departments to minimize disruption to patients, visitors and staff.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and recommends materials and equipment needed for operations.
- Assists with emergency response activities, storm cleanup and special campus projects as required.
- Completes work orders, inspection reports and other documentation accurately and promptly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
