  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • This position is responsible for providing work direction and oversight of Argyros CPTs, including safety, patient care, and customer service. This position also manages patient and specimen workflow on a daily basis to ensure efficiency and timeliness of patient care. The Lead CPT performs and is proficient in all aspects of the CPT role.

    • Education
      • Required:  Highschool, GED or higher level degree

    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

    • Experience
      • Required: One (1) year of experience as a CPT

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Plans, coordinates, and organizes daily tasks.  Regularly checks and monitors the group’s performance and takes corrective action when projects get off track.
    • Provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to other (the team) to achieving best practice services, aligned with Eisenhower’s customer service expectations.
    • Makes assignments and distributes workload; manages day-to-day work flow within a group or unit; reports to manager or supervisor regarding completion of work flow.
    • Coordinates, implements, and oversee the work of the team assigned to a specific project including identification of assignments and responsibility, establishing work deadlines for project team members and coordinating completion of activities.
    • Strives for shared goals.  Helps shape goals and steer team members toward the organization’s larger objectives.  Keeps employees involved and committed toward achieving department and company goals and standards 
    • Leads by example, demonstrates a strong work ethic others will follow. Creates an inspired team environment.
    • Delegates tasks sets clear team goals, oversees day-to-day operations, monitors team performance Provides feedback to supervisor and/or manager on work- related issues, including those that might lead to disciplinary actions.
    • Monitors staff safety(sharps handling and disposal) and handwashing
    • Handles potential patient and/or employee problems as quickly as possible.
    • Complies with all CAP, OSHA, state and federal regulations
    • Keeps supervisor informed and up-to-date at all times.  Provides verbal and written reports as requested. 
    • Develops a good professional and working relationship with supervisor and coworkers.
    • Schedules CPT staff according to operational need Take care that leadership role reflects respect for everyone.  Treats others as individuals maintaining focus on fostering a work environment that welcomes and encourages the sharing of diverse points of view.
    • Fosters collaboration and teamwork in the department.
    • Recognizes and reward good work. Gives praise and recognition both publicly and privately. Involves employees in solving problems. 
    • Develops a good professional and working relationship with own supervisor and other managerial personnel.  Keeps supervisor informed by provides regular verbal and written reports as needed.  
    • Involves employees in solving problems, and recognizes their good work.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
