Education:

Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree and Medical Assistant course completion if hired after March 1, 2025

Licensure/Certification:

Required: American Heart Association BLS
Preferred: Medical Assistant Certificate

Experience:

Required: One (1) year of experience in physician practice office

Job Objective:

Assists the physicians and clinical team in providing care to the patient, while maintaining a quality of standard care, anticipating daily work load, prioritizing activities, and coordinating the workload of the clinic. Acts as primary liaison for physician and their assigned team to ensure proper delegation with consistent and efficient workflow.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations.
  • Coordinates clinic workflow for providers and patients owning accuracy, efficiency and completion of all cares, orders, patient needs, and tasks.
  • Acts as a first point of contact with specific clinical key contacts, (i.e., HMO coordinators, case managers, DME equipment providers, XR techs) to coordinate patient care.
  • Acts as a first point of contact for the assigned provider for provider/staff questions, problem solving, and patient questions, etc.
  • Assists providers to facilitate appropriate preparation, examination, and diagnostic testing cares occur without delay.
  • Creates and maintains back-office, provider specific training documents; proctors new staff for training purposes.
  • Cross trains with other provider teams to provide back up support, when necessary, for staff absence or unusual workloads.
  • Communicates supply needs to supervisor so that appropriately stocked work areas are maintained.
  • Manages patient and clinic flow and scheduling for assigned provider.
  • Collaborates with clinic manager to assists with clinical scheduling and staffing needs; coordinates breaks and lunch periods for team members so as to not compromise patient flow.
  • Handles medications refills timely.
  • Performs patient call backs, responding to patient needs timely.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities including obtaining patient history, removing sutures and staples, dressing changes, supply stocking of patient exam rooms and assisting provider with procedures.
  • Coordinates and schedules patient tests.
  • Prepares clinic and surgery charts for provider; scanning preparation.
  • Coordinates DME application if DME coordinator is not available in satellite offices.
  • Ensures clinical team maintains survey readiness.
  • Organizes and delegates daily work load amongst team to ensure accurate and timely completion of daily assignments.
  • Completes daily team huddle to communicate goals and expectations of standard workflow to clinical team.
  • Supports clinic leadership in relaying information and implementation of any new or improved processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner
