    • Education
      • Preferred: Associate Degree
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: California Board of Pharmacy Technician License

      • Preferred: Certified Pharmacy Technician
    • Experience
      • Preferred: Two years pharmacy technician
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Accepts and performs unassigned Technician functions when requested.
    • Accurately applies department procedures for purchasing, storage, preparation, dispensing, transcription, delivery, and crediting medications.
    • Accurately applies department procedures to manufacturing, packaging, and labeling of drug products.
    • Accurately applies knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing and record keeping of medications.
    • Accurately applies understanding of identification of drugs, drug dosages, routes of administration, dosage forms and storage requirements.
    • Accurately performs basic math calculations.
    • Communicates to the purchasing agent unexpected low inventory levels in a timely manner.
    • Completes hospital competency testing on time.
    • Completes Net Learning assignments on time.
    • Consistently performs in accordance with department procedures for managing controlled substances.
    • Consistently performs required documentation duties.
    • Consistently recognizes generic/brand name recognition.
    • Follows through with Pharmacist instructions.
    • Keeps working areas clean and orderly.
    • Performs automatic dispensing cabinets inventory functions accurately as assigned in a time manner.
    • Prepares unit-dose packages from bulk stock in accordance with departmental procedures.
    • Promptly answers telephone calls using hospital scripting protocol.
    • Provides telephone inquirers with timely information about storage, purchasing, preparation, transcription, dispensing, delivery and return question.
    • Refers all clinical and pharmacologic inquires to a pharmacist.
    • Accurately maintains Kronos.

    • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
