Coordinates patient care with responsibility for incoming patient referrals, including insurance referrals, and front office duties. Assigned work queues, organizing documents to be centrally scanned, including preparation of medical chart, returning phones calls, facilitating physician orders, in conjunction with clinical staff, and other duties as needed.

Required: Previous experience in medical office; Strong preference for experience communicating and translating medical terminology using bilingual Spanish/English skills in a hospital, clinic or medical practice setting

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

Manages clinic EMR referral work queues. Facilitates referral to intended clinic in a timely manner.

Manages HMO referral queue, entering referral requests into HMO website, tracking authorization, reporting status to clinical staff.
-
Ensures that all appropriate patient documentation to external referrals.

Manages clinic EMR incoming referral work queue. Facilitates patient appointments.
-
Maintain an open and collaborative relationship with clinics and departments to facilitate seamless referral process.

Contacts insurance companies to obtain authorization for ordered treatment.
-
Communicates with HMO insurances to facilitate proper documents are scanned into EMR for completion of medical record.
-
Answers all incoming telephone requests and correspondence/letters accurately to ensure timely resolution.

Submits required documentation to support treatment.

Covers front desk duties as needed.

Prepares patient charts timely and accurately.
-
Coordinates with clinical staff to obtain medical records and submit to HMO insurance.

Coordinates placing orders for films, labs and other studies as appropriate, timely and accurately.

Answers all patient questions and requests timely and appropriately.

Answers phones, retrieves voicemail messages and returns calls timely and appropriately.
-
Maximizes use of free time between patients and other task to clean and stock rooms copying documents, and filing.

Collaborates with the scheduling of new patients and follow up visits. Contacts patients to schedule Annual Medicare Wellness visits and annual HMO physicals in collaboration with RN nurse navigator.
