Job Objective:

Coordinates, develops and implements the TAVR. Responsibilities also include: Assesses and analyzes outcome Measures NCDR TVT Registry, Collaborate with Medical and Clinical Staff. Strong communication skills, verbal and written, public speaking, patient and family education.

Job Description:

Education:

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing

Licensure/Certification:

Required: California RN license and American Heart Association BLS

Experience:

Required: Three (3) years clinical RN experience
Preferred: Cardiology or Critical Care experience

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Performs assessments on Valve Clinic patients.
  • With Valve Clinic Team, initiates stroke orders and treatment plan to provide acute care, including on-going assessment, routine procedures, documentation in patient chart, family/patient counseling, education, and procedural & discharge planning.
  • Demonstrates implementation skills in accordance with EMH Standards of Care, policies, procedures, and Nurse Practice Act.
  • With the supervision of a Physician, meets with patients in the Valve Clinic Setting.
  • Demonstrates ability to change intervention strategies when expected outcomes not met.
  • Consistently documents in accordance with EMH policies and procedures.
  • Assesses and analyzes outcome Measures for continued Valve Clinic Progra.
  • Demonstrates competency in the operation of equipment specific to clinical area.
  • Provides accurate and precise reporting of patient condition and changes in a timely manner to physicians.
  • Identifies educational needs and provides comprehensive education pertaining to Valve Clinic Program.
  • Collaborates with nursing management, physicians and the Education Department to identify gaps in processes, develop and implement staff education related to Valve Clinic Program.
  • Completes age specific competency annually.
  • Coordinate research, collect and collate data and report results. Responsible for NCDR TVT Registry.
  • Complies with departmental plan to meet budget goals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Department of Nursing and Joint Commission required quality indicators, performance improvement and patient safety goals.
  • Develops and runs Valve clinic in coordination with Cardiac Services Director.
  • Assists with Valve Clinic Conference held monthly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Skils:

  • Network with Medical & Clinical staff for all members of the Cath Lab and Heart Team
  • Understanding of NCDR TVT Registry and Quality Metric requirements
  • Demonstrates clinical competencies in acute care settings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to create Excel spreadsheets, aggregate and present data
  • Written and verbal communication skills
