  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
      • This position is responsible for managing all aspects of patient scheduling, accurate registrations, insurance verifcation, authorizations/pre-certifications and eligibility in the Eisenhower Health residency clinics  and ensuring all necessary documentation is in place prior to the office visit.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
        • Preferred: Associate Degree or Diploma in Medical Office

    • Licensure/Certification
        • None

    • Experience
        • Required: Previous scheduling experience in healthcare setting (Front Desk/Surgery/OR), and/or experience with scheduling and customer service.
        • Preferred: Working knowledge of outpatient clinic scheduling

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Functions as a role model for organizational values.
    • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of and proficiency with Epic scheduling, registration and communication tools. 
    • Completes all required training courses.
    • Manages patient  registration and scheduling tasks for clinic (multiple providers), including   phone calls, retrieving patient history/information, avoiding creation of duplicate Medical Records for additional patient visits. 
    • Identifies patients by using proper method of retrieving patient history/information
    • Maintains registration error accuracy rate of 97% or higher.
    • Identifies and collects co-pays/deductibles based on insurance eligibility information and/or EMC uninusred Cash Discount quotes for outpatient clinic visits.
    • Reviews and manages assigned clinic referral workqueues to ensure all referrals and appointments are linked correctly for scheduled appointments.
    • Reviews schedule in advance for incomplete items, including insurance eligibility, updates account with accurate information obtained from health plan.
    • Manages automated scheduling technologies to communicate, confirm, and update scheduled patient visits.
    • Completes confirmation calls as needed in collaboration with clinic support staff.
    • Maintains Five Star Standards for patients, physicians and visitors. Assists in monitoring clinic readiness in The Joint Commission, California and Federal standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
