  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Under the immediate supervision of the Management team, the Patient Transport Supervisor oversees Patient Transport and enhances customer relations using positive service and oriented interactions. Assist with JCAHO compliance. Acts as resource to the Patient Transport services team

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required: High School diploma, GED or higher level degree

    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: American Heart Association BLS

    • Experience
      • Required: Three (3) years of related work experience in healthcare, patient care and/or supervising others

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Participates in staff selecting process. Interview candidates as needed.
    • Schedules days off, holidays, and vacations, ensuring that facility’s needs are met in accordance with hours and position control.
    • Assigns personnel established work areas or project duties. Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper transports are managed and tracked.
    • Ensures that staff receive proper orientation, initial training, and on-going education.
    • Ensures daily job duties are revised and current at all times. Review job duties with regular and relief associates periodically.
    • Ensures that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the use of all chemicals, to properly clean and sanitize transport wheel chairs, gurneys, or cars/vans
    • Proactive approach to identifying and correcting facility quality assurance concerns. Timely follow up is required.
    • Provides and monitors individual guidance and motivation to associates to enable each one to perform to his/her fullest potential.
    • Keeps records and appropriate log books current and maintain all necessary documentation. Monitor service binders in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action.
    • Participates in facility Quality Assurance Program when required. 
    • Assigns equipment to staff. Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance.
    • Ensures that all transport staff and department owned equipment is clean and professional in appearance at all times.
    • Responds to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow-up.
    • Participates in associate performance evaluations and make recommendations as needed. Conducts disciplinary meetings with associates with guidance and attendance with  manager/director.
    • Participates in department safety and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
    • Reports all unsafe equipment and acts to appropriate manager/director.
    • Handles special requests or projects and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Ensures the office, storage, and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all time.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
