      • Required: Minimum 2 years in Hospital or patient care setting – procedural or operative.
      • Preferred: Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
      • Preferred: Minimum 2 years scheduling experience, Patient Access experience – Insurance verification and Authorization.
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and Compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the surgery scheduling area by monitoring the daily schedules to meet the Physicians requested blocks and surgical times. Works directly with the surgical care team for accurate schedules for inpatient/outpatient services.
    • Ensures surgical data entered for the case, patient and required resources is accurate and following the physicians request.
    • Ensures all surgical requests made by Physicians/office staff via electronically or verbal are completed daily to meet their and our patients expectations.
    • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily charge capture for surgical charges, monitoring, revenue integrity, procedure case updates and medical device tracking Requirements.
    • Monitors input of surgical supply charges/implants and collaborates with Patient Financial Services to ensure all charges are entered no later than five days after service. Goal is to be no more than 3 days.
    • Performs audits weekly for all charge capture processes utilizing reports, schedules and other identified revenue processing tools for assigned departments in preparation for month end reporting.
    • Captures physician requests for Ad Hoc reporting and attempts to satisfy request within 72 hours.
    • Exercises complex problem solving techniques, collection/data entry, and evaluation and reporting of statistical concepts, defining problems, establishing facts and draws valid conclusions.
    • Oversees customer communication, positive or negative, by means of receiving calls, meeting with customers, data input, written/verbal communication, problem delegation/resolution, process improvement, statistical reporting and presentation. Maintains a positive working relationship with physicians’ offices and ancillary departments and Communicates and consults with manager/director as it relates to improving customer satisfaction.
    • Ensures all required authorization/pre-certification have been accurately collected along with the CPT and ICD10 codes to ensure optimum reimbursement from all payors.
    • Demonstrates an awareness and adherence to the departmental budget.
    • Conducts monthly staff meetings to provide feedback on unit operations, discuss problematic issues and introduce new procedures and/or regulations. Provide for regular and ongoing staff training as needed by individual staff and on a routine and ongoing basis to ensure optimal skill levels and current knowledge base for all employees.
    • Develops work schedules proficiently, changes in staffing roles and work assignments based on department needs. Revises schedule to ensure effective coverage at all times, including working within department due to staffing shortage. Enforces policies and procedures maintaining Eisenhower Medical Center’s Standard of Care. Participates in the interview and hiring process to ensure adequate staffing.
    • Consistently demonstrates fair and effective management of department employees (i.e.: performs timely evaluations, initiates appropriate coaching/counseling, fair application of policies/procedures, implements mechanisms to ensure competent staff.)
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
