  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • A Licensed Vocational Nurse provides care to a specific group of patients under the supervision of an RN/NP/PA/MD. The LVN is responsible for ensuring the accurate data collection, clinical care and documentation of patient care activity, maintaining a quality standard of care, anticipating and responding to the varying daily workload, and prioritizing clinic activities. The collection of data includes reporting significant findings to RN/NP/MD. An LVN performs basic nursing skills and maintains positive interpersonal relations with peers, patients, patient’s families and physicians.

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Performs basic nursing skills.
    • Performs specialized nursing.
    • Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and patients progress toward expected outcomes every shift.
    • Assists physicians, so that appropriate preparation, examination and diagnostic testing occur without error and without delay.
    • Administers medications within scope of practice.
    • Accurately and safely prioritizes sick patients to the back office.
    • Completes accurate documentation of all patient care activity.
    • Works under direction of Charge Nurse and completes assignments as directed.
    • Manages patient assignment within assigned shift.
    • Provides timely and appropriate discharge instructions to patients.
    • Demonstrates cost effectiveness by using judgment when opening and using supplies.
    • Assists with cleaning and organizing workstation, cleaning and supplying rooms.
    • Performs patient callbacks with information about test results or for quality customer service.
    • Maintains lab and other diagnostic test results and reports in a timely manner to Charge Nurse/Providers.
    • Coordinates breaks and lunch periods for team members so as not to compromise patient flow.
    • Performs other duties as requested.
