    • The position provides routine patient care to Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab patients and Adult Community Fitness Center Members

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required: Graduate from an AMA, CoARC or JRCRTE approved Respiratory Therapy program; current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
      • Preferred: Associate Degree
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: Current and valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Respiratory Care Board of California and American Heart Association BLS

      • Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and EKG Interpretation

    • Experience
      • Required: Two (2) years of acute/chronic respiratory care experience

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Responsible for direct patient care in Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
    • Performs evaluation on outpatient candidates for Pulmonary Rehab.
    • Develops care plan and establishes goals with patient and revises as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment.
    • Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Family is included in teaching as appropriate.
    • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of pulmonary disease, surgeries and therapies.
    • Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
    • Stays current with new treatments/technologies/advancements through continuing education, seminars/conferences, professional journals and societies.
    • Provides accurate and precise reporting of patient condition and changes in a timely manner to Coordinator and physicians.
    • Consistent documentation in accordance with EMC policies and procedures.
    • Assists unit goals to meet budget.
    • Demonstrates competency in the operation of equipment specific to clinical area.
    • Communicates with co-workers prior to breaks and lunches to ensure continuity of patient care.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of Department of Nursing performance Improvement and Patient Safety goals.
    • Assists with rehabilitation of cardiac patients within scope of practice
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
