Job Description:

Education:

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing

Licensure/Certification:

Required: California Registered (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA)

Experience:

Required: Three (3) years of clinical RN experience in acute care setting
Preferred: Medical office experience, leadership experience

Job Objective:

Responsible for the day-to day operations of the clinic(s) in collaboration with leadership to ensure effective and efficient patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Supports a work environment which allows participation in order to promote retention, productivity, diversity, employee safety and equality.
  • Supervises all assigned staff to include hiring, orienting, training, evaluating and coaching; escalates employee performance concerns to leadership and provides documentation for counseling and performance improvement plans (PIPs) as necessary.
  • Implements policies as directed by leadership.
  • Maintains positive relations with direct and indirect customers.
  • Develops and maintains open lines of communication between the team members.
  • Maintains survey-ready clinics, compliant with JCAHO standards and state/federal regulatory bodies. Participates in Joint Commission inspections and other local and state regulatory inspection requirements.
  • Organizes efforts around helping patients and clients have the most positive experience, by motivating and leading staff in a Mission driven manner.
  • Oversees daily scheduling for timely flow and reduced wait times; monitors overtime and avoids meal penalties, escalate issues to leadership as appropriate.
  • Monitors electronic medical records work list and MyChart messages of all staff for timely response and follow up.
  • Assists in patient care including rooming of patient, entering health information into EMR, administering injections, assist with exam or diagnostic procedure setup; ensures medical record information is scanned to electronic medical record appropriately and timely.
  • Responsible for the daily assessment of unit equipment to maintain quality controls (i.e. POCT’s, Med Refrigerators (where applicable)); maintains par levels of medications, pharmaceutical supplies and medical supplies to maintain par levels.
  • Ensures National Patient Safety Goals are adhered to and works closely with clinical staff in compliance among all staff and physicians.
  • Rounds with staff members to evaluate care and services given to patients and escalates as necessary.
  • Schedules staff to ensure appropriate coverage, per direction of leadership.

  • Ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, transparency, and accountability in decision-making and actions
  • Knowledge of the special needs of the patient population served
