  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Under the immediate supervision of the Department Director and management team. The Environmental Services Department Shift Supervisor enhances customer relations using positive service and oriented interactions. Assist with JCAHO compliance. Acts as resource to the environmental services team. And all other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required:  Highschool Diploma, GED or Higher Degree
        Preferred: College degree or equivalent work experience.

    • Licensure/Certification
      • None
    • Experience
      • Required: Three to five years as a lead or supervisor in housekeeping or service-related field with high customer/client contact Or education equivalent a 4-year degree
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Maintains a high level of cleanliness in assigned areas.
    • Participates in staff selecting process. Interview candidates as needed.
    • Schedules days off, holidays, and vacations, ensuring that facility’s needs are met in accordance with hours and position control.
    • Assigns personnel established work areas or project duties. Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper frequencies are maintained.
    • Ensures that staff receive proper orientation, initial training, and on going education.
    • Ensures daily job duties are revised and current at all times. Review job duties with regular and relief associates periodically.
    • Ensures that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the use of all chemicals.
    • Proactive approach to identifying and correcting facility quality assurance concerns. Timely follow up is required.
    • Provides and monitors individual guidance and motivation to associates to enable each one to perform to his/her fullest potential.
    • Disciplines individuals when necessary according to progressive disciplinary guidelines.
    • Keeps records and appropriate log books current and maintain all necessary documentation. Monitor service binders in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action to
    • Participates in facility Quality Assurance Program as required. Ensure high quality percentage of clean is maintained in areas of assignment. Perform Quality Assurance Inspections as assigned.
    • Assigns equipment to staff. Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance.
    • Ensures that all equipment that all equipment is clean and professional in appearance at all times.
    • Prepares employee disciplinary reports and conduct follow-up as required. Conduct disciplinary meetings with employees with guidance from appropriate assistant director.
    • Responds to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow-up.
    • Participates in associate performance evaluations and make recommendations as needed. Conducts disciplinary meetings with associates with guidance from appropriate assistant director.
    • Participates in department safety and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
    • Reports all unsafe equipment and acts to appropriate assistant director.
    • Handles special requests or projects and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Assists housekeepers on an as needed basis.
    • Ensures Housekeeping office, storage, and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all time.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
