  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Responsible for regular cleaning and general upkeep of patient, public and or office areas, and associated ancillary areas, such as nurse’s station, restrooms, treatment rooms, lounges, etc.

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Cleans occupied and discharged patient rooms
    • Cleans all associated ancillary areas of assigned patient care unit.
    • Responds to emergencies assigned by nursing, or through Environmental services Department.
    • Maintains adequate cleaning supplies to complete shift
    • Refills all paper and other supplies as needed
    • Cleans cart and closet at end of shift; Return all borrowed equipment
    • Notifies nursing supervisor as rooms are ready for new admissions
    • Notifies EVS department secretary of any maintenance concerns
    • Empties all sharps containers when 3/4 full.
    • Maintains assigned area in accordance to all departmental policies and procedures
    • Provides patient observation at the discretion of a nurse and communicates observations of patient condition changes to nurse.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
