Nurse Residency Program

Our Nurse Residency Program provides the opportunity for professional growth as you transition from a student into your first patient care role as an Eisenhower Health RN.

Application Requirements:

  • California Registered Nurse license OR plans to take NCLEX within the next 3 months
  • Nursing degree completion within the prior 11 months
  • Nursing degree – BSN or MSN degree preferred
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Program Length:

One (1) Year

Curriculum and Activities

  • Clinical orientation start date once per month
  • Program start dates four time per year
  • 9-12 weeks of clinical preceptorship, dependent on specialty
  • Constructive preceptor & educator feedback & evaluation processes
  • Monthly seminars which include didactic, critical thinking training and simulation-based learning
  • First 6-month curriculum focus is on clinical skills and development of critical thinking.
  • Second 6- month curriculum focus is on professional development, goal setting, evidence-based practice and leadership.
  • Community outreach opportunities
  • Shared governance participation
  • Participation in an evidence-based practice with workshops lead by our Nurse Scientist
  • Debriefing & mentorship
  • Networking & resident group collaboration
  • Collaboration & training with medical residents
