  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Augments the role of the physical therapist. Coordinates and provides appropriate aspects of the treatment plan and recommends changes to the physical therapist. Is responsible for 100% patient care and performs other duties as assigned.

    • Education
      • Required:  Highschool, GED or Higher Level Degree

      • Preferred: Graduate of accredited PTA school or education meeting requirements for challenging California State Board Exam preferred.
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: Approval from PT Board of the State of California or eligible. American Heart Association BLS
      • Preferred: N/A
    • Experience
      • Required: Work experience to meet state board requirement for licensure.
      • Preferred: N/A
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Provides effective therapy treatments based on age specific, cultural, and rehabilitative needs and in compliance of hospital licensing and accreditation standards and in compliance with the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
    • Provides thorough, timely, legible, and consistent patient care documentation.
    • Individual productivity meets department standards. Provides effective education and mentoring for student interns as assigned.
    • Utilizes all resources to assist with patient flow as applicable (prints forms, schedules patients, etc.).
    • Participates in special department programs.
    • Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and coordination to maximize patient outcomes.
    • Responds positively, appropriately, and in a timely fashion to all communications including patients, co-workers, supervisors, other departments, physicians, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
