Augments the role of the physical therapist. Coordinates and provides appropriate aspects of the treatment plan and recommends changes to the physical therapist. Is responsible for 100% patient care and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Highschool, GED or Higher Level Degree

Preferred: Graduate of accredited PTA school or education meeting requirements for challenging California State Board Exam preferred.

Required: Approval from PT Board of the State of California or eligible. American Heart Association BLS

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

Provides effective therapy treatments based on age specific, cultural, and rehabilitative needs and in compliance of hospital licensing and accreditation standards and in compliance with the Physical Therapy Practice Act.

Provides thorough, timely, legible, and consistent patient care documentation.

Individual productivity meets department standards. Provides effective education and mentoring for student interns as assigned.

Utilizes all resources to assist with patient flow as applicable (prints forms, schedules patients, etc.).

Participates in special department programs.

Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and coordination to maximize patient outcomes.
- Responds positively, appropriately, and in a timely fashion to all communications including patients, co-workers, supervisors, other departments, physicians, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
