    • This position is responsible for managing all aspects of patient scheduling in the infusion room and ensuring all orders and authorizations are in place for treatment.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Preferred: Associate Degree or Diploma in Medical Office

    • Licensure/Certification
      • None
    • Experience
      • Required: Previous scheduling experience in healthcare setting (Front Desk/Surgery/OR), and/or experience with scheduling and customer service.

      • Preferred: Working knowledge of chemotherapy cycles/plans.
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Functions as a role model for organizational values.
    • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the Epic schedule. Manages Epic infusion schedule template for nurses by performing chairside scheduling of patients from cycle to cycle and all additional supportive care appointments.
    • Links appropriate referrals to all appointments scheduled in infusion.
    • Manages infusion referral queues to ensure all appointments are linked correctly.
    • Collaborates with the PAR team to insure authorizations and referrals are current and applicable.
    • Reviews schedule in advance for signed and active orders, authorizations, and follow-up MD appointments.
    • Assists charge RN with daily nurse assignment.
    • Identifies expiring orders and notifies appropriate clinic staff for renewal.
    • Utilizes various reports to identify patients without infusion appointments, recalls, no shows, etc.
    • Completes confirmation calls on all next day appointments in the infusion center.
    • Manages and completes any ABN’s generated during the infusion appointment and sends to Patient Financial Services.
    • Maintains Five Star Standards for patients, physicians and visitors. Assists in monitoring clinic readiness in JACAHO, California and Federal standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
