Education

Required: Current BLS approved by the American Heart Association, Valid CA Driver’s License, and Excellent driving record. Must be 21 years of age.

Preferred: Some hospital and/or patient care experience or customer service experience.

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
-
Demonstrates knowledge of hospital approved patient identification procedures.
-
Communications pertinent information and unfinished tasks to co-workers prior to breaks, lunches and end of shift to ensure continuity of workflow.

Provides safe and efficient transfer of patients.
-
Using a hydraulic lift for raising patients in wheelchairs into the van.
-
Provides safe patient environment at all times. Straps patient wheelchair using the proper restrains. The floor of the van is outfitted with special seat belts and straps attached to the floor. Operates patient support equipment such as oxygen tank.

Maintains sanitized equipment such as wheelchairs after each patient use.

Demonstrates good body mechanics moving, transferring and lifting patients.
