  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • Responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of Eisenhower Medical Center systems. Defines system solutions based on needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Researches, identifies, recommends, and tests technology products required for solution delivery. Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies utilizing extensive professional judgement. Stays on top of industry trends and new technologies. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in IT or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: Security+, or must complete Security+ (or comparable course) within one year of hire
      • Preferred: MCITP, MCTS, A+, Network+
      • Epic technical certifications may be required
    • Experience
      • Required: 10+ years as a System Administrator in an Enterprise environment, or equivalent environment and role
      • Preferred: Experience supporting a healthcare enterprise environment or healthcare data center
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Responsible for leading the designing and implementing short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software.
    • Conducts independent research on new technologies in the field of systems development and creates formal recommendations for investing in such systems that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility.
    • Drives infrastructure development. Independently develops and execute test plans to check technical performance of infrastructure and report findings. Based on findings, makes recommendations for improvement. Develops technology and procedural strategy for standardizing systems. 
    • Analyzes and evaluates information technology systems operations and their effectiveness. After independent analysis, recommends plans for improvement or automation when appropriate.
    • Communicates regularly with internal applications and operational staff, as appropriate, in order to ensure the system integrity, security and availability
    • Checks ticket management and project work queues daily. Updates work orders, trouble tickets and project tasks on a weekly basis until tasks are complete.
    • Leads the automation of IT processes whenever possible to reduce delivery time of IT services and to improve the outcomes of those services. (Server provisioning, VM builds, server de-provisioning, storage provisioning etc.)
    • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information technology systems operations and their effectiveness. Recommends plans for improvement or automation when appropriate.
    • Uses independent and professional judgement to create comprehensive test plans to validate scripts, pushes and other data center changes.
    • Uses professional discretion to support the IT System Analysts and vendors during and post implementation of various IT systems, especially when the need for non-standard approaches may be required Uses technical judgement to evaluate and resolve complex systems issues when they occur.
    • Leads various committees and meetings where issues involving security and systems are concerned.
    • Effectively communicates with IS staff members, vendors and users, and facilitates communication between these groups to identify system needs, modifications, and/or issues. Works with these groups to reach resolution of issues, define necessary modifications and develop solutions.
    • Demonstrates excellent time and project management skills as well as organizational and personal skills to work with a variety of people.
    • Advises Director or Manager of any issues that could relate to poor customer satisfaction, breaches in security and/or operational risks, and leads plans for remediation.
    • Works as team member and independently with minimal supervision.
    • Has a friendly and proactive attitude to helping others in the IT and other departments.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
