  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • The Registered Nurse in 24/7 is responsible and accountable for the provision of a continuum of evidenced based expert nursing care for 24/7 members. The 24/7 RN provides a key point of contact with the health care system for 24/7  members. This contact ensures timely access to a variety of health care programs and services for Eisenhower Health's major donors in recognition of their philanthropic financial support to the organization. The 24/7 RN works collaboratively with 24/7 member/family, specialists, physicians and the various members of the health care team. Areas of practice are highly multidisciplinary, multi-faceted, requiring open, responsive communication in order to meet 24/7 members health care needs.

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Demonstrates expertise in establishing and maintaining positive, effective working relationships with 24/7 members, specialists, physicians, hospital departmental and clinic staff to maximize patient outcomes. 
    • Develops a collaborative plan that is medically appropriate, timely and acceptable to the 24/7 member. 
    • Coordinates and schedules all medically related appointments; including diagnostic testing, procedures, physicians, and specialists in collaboration with the 24/7 member/family.
    • Communicates and explains rationale for diagnostic testing, planned treatments, and coordinates care for 24/7 members across the healthcare continuum.
    • Facilitates 24/7 member's participation in all decisions concerning care and advocates on behalf of the member as appropriate in a variety of health care settings. 
    • Bridges knowledge gaps through utilizing teachable moments to provide up to date medical and health information.
    • Aims to reduce patients anxiety while enhancing their ability to follow through with appointments and prescribed care.
    • Ensures each encounter with 24/7 member and family addresses and exceeds member's expectation.
    • Accepts accountability and participates in critical thinking and problem-solving issues related to high quality patient care outcomes.
