    • The position is responsible for performing duties consistent with accurate patient care activity within the scope of licensure, maintaining a quality of standard care, anticipating daily workload, prioritizing activities and coordinating the workload of the clinic(s).

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required:  Graduation from an Accredited LVN program 
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: Current California LVN licensure, American Heart Association BLS
    • Experience
      • Required: 1 to 2 years’ experience in the area of specialty or in area of higher acuity
      • Preferred: 1 to 2 years’ leadership experience
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Performs clinical care and gives patient care as required for volumes of patients presenting.
    • Assists physicians, so that appropriate preparation, examination and diagnostic testing occur without error and without delay.
    • Ensures accurate documentation of all patient care activity.
    • Provides timely and appropriate discharge instructions to patients.
    • Performs patient callbacks with information about test results or for quality customer service.
    • Administers medication within the scope of practice.
    • Maintains communication and resolves issues regarding clinic activities.
    • Supervises all activities related to the daily management of the patient flow.
    • Ensures the assignment of appropriately qualified staff for the patients based on clinic activity and volumes.
    • Assigns and maintains optimum staffing in order to maximize patient flow.
    • Communicates with medical staff, patients, families, ancillary departments and others.
    • Demonstrates prioritization and decision-making skills with regard to daily activities for clinic.
    • Demonstrates effective problem solving techniques for daily situations.
    • Responds to staff concerns in a timely manner.
    • Serves as a clinical and administrative resource for staff.
    • Investigates family, patient or physician complaints and reports unsolved problems to appropriate leadership.
    • Interacts with medical staff and other hospital departments to ensure that patient concerns are addressed.
    • Monitors quality of care given in all areas.
    • Monitors productivity of clinic staff.
    • Utilizes staff downtime effectively to do chart review, department duties, and patient follow-up.
    • Interprets, explains and applies policies and procedures and standards of care.
    • Ensures adherence to Joint Commission, California and Federal standards.
    • Provides input to performance evaluations on time.
    • Facilitates staff orientation and development for the department. Initiates educational opportunities.
    • Assists in control of expenditures within the department.
    • Ensures cleanliness and maintenance of the clinic adjacent areas and implements appropriate actions to keep physical plant up to standard.
    • Reports equipment problems and assists to monitor repair and return to use.
    • Performs scribe duties if applicable.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
